About your facilitator
Following a near-fatal suicide attempt in 2017, Chrystal began her healing journey. She was diagnosed with MDD, ADD, anxiety, and BPD. She struggled with chronic stress and had unprocessed trauma to address from early childhood. Often feeling out of control, she had no coping skills and had a difficult time functioning in day-to-day life.
As someone who considers herself a lifelong student of knowledge, Chrystal wanted to understand the brain, the mind, and trauma. This led to understanding how the subconscious is the driving force for how we view ourselves and the world. She explored many natural healing practices and discovered the powerful benefits of meditation, sound healing, and mindfulness. From there she dove into neuroplasticity, epigenetics, and fasting. Learning about the brain’s incredible ability to heal she was driven by her desire to live a healthier, happier life through many modalities.
Despite the relentless pursuit of well-being and healing, she still felt stuck. What she soon discovered was she was pursuing health and well-being through only one lens – the mind. She had been neglecting the connection of body and soul as modern therapies and methods of healing often do. Upon attending her first-ever retreat, she experienced a group breathwork journey. Unlike anything she had ever experienced- she felt powerful energy, witnessed deep emotional releases in others, and felt connected to herself in ways she had never encountered before.
That group breathwork session was the catalyst for Chrystal to start exploring the modality of Somatic breathwork. Receiving a diploma in trauma-informed coaching from the Centre for Healing, followed by certification from YogaBody in breathwork techniques, and finally, an extensive SBT-40 led by Eddy Tony certifying her to facilitate Somatic Breathwork, she feels called to share this practice with others – so that they too, may finally move from survival states, and learn to cultivate an internal place filled with peace, safety and centred connection to self. This is where the idea for Your Centered Space was birthed. Chrystal is your guide to coming home to yourself, reconnecting, and discovering the powerful healing abilities of your breath. She looks forward to meeting you and walking with you on your journey from head to heart
